Basil: grows well indoors in a sunny spot or outdoors in full sun. Sow 1/4 inch deep, 1 inch apart, in prepared garden soil, after frost danger has passed. Water and fertilize as needed.
Italian Oregano: Sow indoors for early harvest or in full sun after last frost date. Sow 1/8” deep, spacing 1” apart. Pinch off tops of young plants to encour- age branching. Harvest before bloom for best flavor.
Parsley: may be grown indoors any time of year as long as it has a sunny location, or sow seeds outdoors whenever temperatures are above freezing. While the seeds may take several weeks to germinate, once the plants have started growing, the leaves can be harvested right away. Sow seeds 1/8” deep and water as needed.
Cilantro: Cilantro is the leaf, and Coriander refers to the seeds of this plant. Cilantro leaves are used to flavor sauces, soups, or pastas. After last frost, scatter seeds in a sunny area, cover lightly, and water as needed.
Chives: grow well indoors in a sunny spot or outdoors in full sun. After the frost has ended, sow seeds 1/4” deep. Sow several seeds near each other and the plants will form clumps. Water regularly and fertilize if needed. Harvest the plant tips for an ongoing supply of fresh, tender leaves.
Step 1: Fill the garden with the required amount of water and the included plant food.
Step 2: Assemble each growth basket by inserting seeds into the sponges and placing the sponges into the baskets. Each basket will have its very own place in the garden.
Step 3: Once you have carefully created a home for each basket and labeled your seeds, turn on the system and enjoy your very own indoor garden.
